Kadence Tutorial

Background

This series of tutorials began as a project of the Brisbane Inner North WordPress MeetUp in 2022.

The group’s admin setup a program to learn to build a WordPress site with the goal in mind to produce a site for an organisation called KidSafe. The site would be built in the style of their current website and would concentrate on one aspect of the organisation’s work – safety of children’s playgrounds.

The MeetUp is planned to meet monthly during 2022 and to proceed step-by-step through the building of a website …starting right from the beginning.

It was felt to get most benefit for all in the group that we would use the current version of WordPress (version 5.9 at the time of starting the project) and to use the WordPress native editor rather than being locked in to any particular page builder.

The Kadence Theme and Kadence Blocks combination was selected as the platform to be used to build the site. Each participant was invited to install and use a Flywheel Local server for the development of their website. The tentative timetable of sessions is outlined here.
