Internet Marketing – essential
“You build it and they will come” is a well known mis-quote from the movie “Field of Dreams“.
For any one wanting to build a business online, it’s the worst advice that can be given. Simply building a website will not guarantee that anyone will come. And those that may stumble upon the site are likely not the visitors the business was hoping to attract.
Search engines may find the site and may even index some of it, but for that website to perform as expected, some serious work needs to go into marketing.
Marketing is the process of exploring, creating, and delivering value to meet the needs of a target market in terms of goods and services. Internet marketing involves defining the target market and delivering considered content to that market in the most convenient way. Unless a website is doing that, it is really nothing more than a field of dreams.
